Scales and Art 鱗片

Over these two weeks Pieter has taught the kids about what kind of outer covering animals have on their bodies in his science class. There were four types; skin, feathers, scales, and fur. I found a book called "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister, it just matched what Pieter taught the kids. I also saw the book The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, and it gave me an idea about teaching his art style to the kids and matching it with the science class lesson. Well we didn't really use the same material that  he uses but we used the same method. We coloured and cut the paper and pasted it on a blank piece of paper. This project took a few hours to finish, the kids were almost too tired to finish them. I had to help them finish their work. There were more things I should have discussed some things with the kids, like how to cut paper shapes and what kind of colours would be good with other colours, and how to paste the paper to make the picture more lifelike. But we just didn't have the time.
I believe next time we can have a more interesting discussion and improve.  It was not easy but they did a really good job.

Pieter這兩周幫小孩上自然課,談到動物身體上的皮膚、鱗片、毛皮和羽毛。今天剛好去圖書館看到一本書“彩虹魚”。靈機一動,我想要模仿艾瑞克.卡爾創作方式,來教小孩認識鱗片。
這次創作我錯估小孩的耐心,因為需要好幾個小時才能完成,到後面小孩有點受不住,必須半幫忙方式完成剪貼的部分。因為第一次做,沒有考慮太多線條、顏色安排跟形狀的剪貼等細節,小孩比較隨意剪紙。希望下次可以改進,讓整個創作看起更活靈活現。
雖然時間滿冗長在創作,不過今天他們的確做得很棒。

How we did our art work.
1.We read the rainbow fish. In the book the fish has beautiful
scales. It helped the kids know about scales ageing. 
This book talks about "sharing", it is a good book.
如何展開我們的創作
1.故事引導“彩虹魚”,談到彩虹魚身上的美麗的鱗片,
順便教導如何分享可以更快樂。

2. I used baking sheets and taped them on the table,
then the kids couldn't move the paper while they painted.

2.拿出烘培紙,然後在紙上四邊貼在桌上,方便作畫。

3.We used water colours with pens and sponges to colour on
the back of the papers.
3利用水彩跟海綿,任意在烘培紙上著色。 





4. We set the papers aside to let the colours dry.
4.將完成的色紙,放置一處,等待顏料乾之後,在進行剪貼。
 

5.We drew the animals with scales on the paper
5.在紙上,畫出主題有鱗片的動物。 
6.Then we cut the baking paper to paste on our plain white paper.
6.剪下各種顏色的紙張,一片一片的幫動物上美麗的鱗片。
