Self-portraits 自畫像

I thought it would be  easy to teach the kids about self-portraits. But it was not. The kids had to draw their own face by looking in the mirror. You'd think positioning of facial features would be given, but they had a tough time. They would have been good if mimicking Picasso, so I drew horizontal guidelines to help them position different parts of their faces. I guided them at first then let them free draw, It was amazing to see their reactions to their own faces. 

原本以為請小孩畫一張自畫像是件很簡單的事情，結果發現對小孩說有些挑戰。首先需要教他們把臉的輪廓畫出來，然後簡單分出比例。這已經花了些許時刻，小孩除了拿鏡子看著自己的臉，然後畫出眼睛、鼻子跟嘴巴，還需要注意比例、大小和對比。平時都是畫小小的人像，這次要把臉畫這麼大，還滿有意思，開始引導到後來讓他們隨意發揮。看到小孩的自畫畫，讓我嚇一跳，畢竟小孩眼中看到的自己跟我們大人世界看到的真得很不一樣。他們的畫很純真也很精彩！

This was Corban's portrait draft. It was very interesting

to see how he saw himself.
