I really love to cook for my family. The kids always look forward to me cooking for them. Cooking makes me happy and every one eats more healthier and we save money. I usually cook very simply and with a lot of nutrition. I always try to cook fast to keep the nutrition from leaving the food and because with Pieter out of the house, it is hard to spend too much time in the kitchen when the kids are going crazy in other parts of the house. But Pieter and I love to spend time cooking during the weekend. Then, we will cook more complex foods or interesting foods. Cooking for us is a way to release stress.
I also study a lot of books to help my family eat healthy. Most foods like GMOs, trans fats, hydrogenated oils, other cheap oils, and milk, we try to avoid.
這是我們幾乎每次吃飯的方式,每一個人一盤。我們飯前二十分,就會每個人先喝一杯水,吃飯以前就先吃水果,接下來是蔬菜、肉類,最後是飯或是麵類。而肉類我們也並常吃,蛋白質的攝取通常是豆類或穀類為來源。(奶製品就以豆漿取代,奶油就是椰子油)
餐桌上很少出現三菜一湯的情況,原因會花費很多時間去料理,加上分太多餐盤,桌子會擺不下,我通常會料理好所有的菜,然後分成一盤一盤的,這樣一來我不用幫任何人夾菜或是擔心有誰會吃得比較少。因為分菜需要公平,否則小孩們會跳腳的。
天氣熱的時候通常以沙拉做變化,配上麵類、豆類或著飯類來拌料。天氣較冷時候,就是吃湯麵、燴飯甚至炒飯。像烹煮比較久的時候,會燙青菜來補給因為過度烹煮所流失的營養。餐前幾乎都有水果,中餐通常吃得豐盛,晚餐吃得相當清淡跟簡單。
每餐也都會吃完,幾乎不吃隔餐菜,所以每餐都會下廚。日漸訓練,我動作變得十分快,大約三十分鐘內,我可以搞定一餐。
到了假日或有多餘時間,我就花比較多時間料理,像是做美式漢堡餐或是先生會下廚料理複雜或耗時的食物,像是印度料理或是墨西哥餐。一般有下廚的人,都會感受到那種做出美食所帶來的喜悅,也是一個很好舒壓的好活動呢!
吃是一門學問,我也花一些時間研究,奶製品取用與否,油類的選擇,到處都有基改食物跟
防不甚防的反式脂肪..這類問題 ,這些都值得好好研究,才可以幫家人煮出營養又健康美食。
