Jenga Math疊疊樂

A few weeks ago, we found a set of Jenga blocks with numbers on them. We thought it would help the kids practice their math. Today it was a good change to use it to review the kids' addition and multiplication.

I use "SingaporeMath" to teach the kids, it really makes learning math easy.

I also know sometimes it is not easy to teach the kids to understand the math, so I'll take a rest for a few weeks, and then pick up where we left off. I feel the break helps them to relax and they usually pick up the concepts faster. 

It really does not matter how fast the kids learn, they will all understand it someday.

前些日子買了疊疊樂，這疊疊樂上面有數字，有四個骰子。

今天想拿來複習上過的數學，Corban練習10以內的加法，Amira練習兩位數的加法跟

基本乘法概念。我用一套英文SingaporeMath，裡面的數學簡單容易懂。小學一年級就有“乘法跟除法”，而台灣小一數學則沒有，但是不管進度上快慢，小孩能夠懂與吸收比較重要，有些課上了一兩個月都無法教懂，但是休息不教，過兩三個月後，小孩子會突然懂。

疊疊樂是很好玩喔，但是有五個人一起想要拿骰子的時候，

手腳就得快一點了！

免得疊好的積木，功虧一簣

I also have quick hands in case any kids knock down the jenga tower.

Corban玩家法

兩個骰子加起來，數一數

如果重複數字，再多一個骰子

這樣就可避免同樣數字的狀況

Corban used two dice then he added the two numbers together.

If he got the number he already had, I just added one die.

He added one more number to get a new number.

It was more fun to let him practice addition this way.

Amira練習乘法

先學會分組群，一組有幾個

我就會請問她兩個六，你要怎麼解釋乘法

她會說：有六組撲克牌錢幣，每組有六個

然後她會分類分成六個一堆，共六對

然後心算加起來，如果加不起來或加錯

就請她一個一個數

我沒請她背乘法，只先讓她了解乘法，以後再背

（想當年我老爸，在我沒上小學前就叫我被起來，所以

我從來不知道乘法的意思，到了當媽才懂，不過老爸也是一片好意）

Amira practiced multiplication and addition.

For example she got two 6's

I would asked her what is 6x6?

She would say, there are six poker chips in six different groups

Then she added them altogether. If she made a mistake,  

she would count one by one to find the answer.
