Because our family has two cultures, we have a lot of elements between the East and West. So we have twelve months worth of activities. There are different festivals every month, so the children can experience Mommy and Daddy's cultures many times each month. A good thing about all these different activities is that it builds up a lot of great traditions in our home.
Sure there are many holidays every month, which means a lot of preparation, but we feel by celebrating so many we allow our children to see where we as parents come from and better understand our cultures. Each holiday or festival is accompanied by its own art, cuisine, games, and family activities. This makes learning fun and interesting.
These are just some of the holidays and traditions we keep during the year:
January - New Year's goals made for the up coming year
February -Chinese New Year; red envelopes
March - St. Patrick's Day a feast of green irish food
April - Easter eggs and celebrating the resurrection of Christ
May - Mother's Day, giving thanks Mothers
June - Dragon Boat Festival, watching dragon boat races and eating zongzi
July - U.S. Independence Day with ice cream and burgers
August - Thanking Dad during Father's Day in Taiwan
September - Fun barbecue to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival
October - Halloween; crazy fashion show
November - Thanksgiving; turkey dinner and giving thanks for our blessings
December - Christmas presents under the Christmas tree and celebrating the birth of Christ
因為我們家庭是兩種文化的人結合在一起的，所以常常有東西文化的元素來到我們家庭裡，因此我們出現了十二個月份的家庭傳統活動。每個月有不同節日，我們會有不同程度的慶祝，讓小孩可以體驗一下文化生活，也幫助我們建立基本家庭傳統，也許等他們大了，他們有自己的家庭，或許也可以營造出多元化的家庭傳統。
每個月過節似乎很多，但是我們藉由節日，帶領小孩認識節日的由來跟特色，融入在美術、美食跟家庭活動裡，變化出各種有趣生活體驗課，樂在其中，學在其中。

八月-台灣父親節 謝謝爸爸為家庭努力付出
九月-中秋節 賞月烤肉趣
十月-萬聖節 瘋狂服裝秀
十一月-感恩節 感恩生活中許多祝福 火雞大餐
十二月-聖誕節 慶祝基督的誕生 聖誕樹下的禮物
