Because we read the church magazine "Friend" every week, it gave me an idea. I have been teaching a lot of different art stuff, but I never let the. draw something about "church". So we had a discussion of what we would draw. Amira wanted to draw the Taipei Temple. Corban wanted to draw the birth of Christ. And I wanted to draw the Oakland Temple where Pieter and I were sealed in eternal marriage.
Frist, we had to make a draft about what we would draw. Then we used water paints. This project was not easy for the children. They spent a lot of time on their drafts. Corban could not even make it, so I asked him to draw what he thought about "the birth of Christ". He did it and was happy.
Amira worked so hard to finish her painting, she was upset that she couldn't do it as well as she wanted. But I told her, it was okay and that it was her first time. She would get better after she practiced more.
I was proud of her that she finished her painting and I think she did good.
上週因為體力不佳，停工一周沒有讓小孩畫畫。不過，Cotban倒是每天拿出圖畫紙，畫畫翦翦貼貼的。
這次希望可以畫一些有關教會的事情，Amira選擇畫臺北聖殿，Corban則是想要畫耶穌基督誕生。而我就畫奧克蘭聖殿，這是當初我跟我先生在美國印證的聖殿，對我來說可是意義非凡喔。
水彩畫前的草稿繪圖，對小孩來說很吃力，因為看圖寫生，線條又拿不準。Corban畫了又畫、擦了又擦，甚至換面重畫，還是沒法畫出要的樣子。最後他放棄，我就請他自己畫想像中的“基督的誕生”，這樣他反而兩三下就畫出了。
至於，Amira就在歎氣聲中，慢慢把草稿打出來。還好是畫臺北聖殿，線條簡單多了，否則恐怕難完成作品呢！
接下來幫圖案上水彩畫，水彩畫跟色鉛筆或是彩色筆都不同。使用上也不善長，所以我們琢磨很久，儘量把顏色畫出我們想要的，結果還可以接受。
對於第一次，仔細畫圖跟上水彩的我們來說，可花了三個小時間，中間加上兩個小搗蛋起床，還真是有點挑戰。希望可以越畫越順，爾後可以有更多機會使用水彩創作。
